To make the wardrobe closet look appropriate and not take up too much space, it is important to choose the right types of this furniture. Having dealt with the material of the case, doors and internal filling, you can get a functional and beautiful wardrobe in any room.

Peculiarities

Furniture in any room should be thought out to the smallest detail, especially if the space is small. Color, design, internal content can be different, the main thing is that the finished result allows you to solve the main problems.

A wardrobe closet is usually purchased in order to fit all the family's clothes in it, to arrange all things, shoes and accessories in one place. Thanks to the presence of different compartments, shelves, hanger bars, it is possible to hang and unfold everything you need.

The advantages of wardrobe sliding-door wardrobes include such characteristics.

  • Practicality and spaciousness - taking up a small space in the room, the design of the cabinet from floor to ceiling allows you to make the most of this type of furniture, fitting everything you need in it.
  • Application variability - toys, small household appliances, an ironing board and other things that need to be put away for storage can be put in the wardrobe.
  • Versatility - due to a wide variety of models, it is possible to order a cabinet of the required height, width and thickness, which will allow you to put it in any room.
  • Decorative and applied role - with the help of sliding wardrobes, you can divide the room into zones, separate the corridor from the residential part.

The disadvantages of such furniture include the need for additional space, which remains between the wall and the cabinet from different sides. This problem can be removed by organizing built-in wardrobes.

Views

Sliding wardrobes can be divided into two main types:

  • built-in;
  • modular.

Recessed structures are usually placed inside certain niches in order to properly use the free space. These cabinets often lack side walls, top and bottom parts.

The advantages of this option include:

  • rational use of the space of any room;
  • an increase in the usable area of the product due to the absence of partitions and other structural elements;
  • the ability to smooth out and hide problem areas of the room;
  • the minimum number of partitions and other elements, the structure is closed with doors.

With all the advantages in the built-in wardrobes, there is also a drawback - the cost. To make a high-quality wardrobe in a niche, it is necessary to prepare the walls, floor and ceiling, making them perfectly flat, otherwise the product with a sliding door will not function normally.

A modular wardrobe is a freestanding piece of furniture that has sides, top and bottom, doors and a variety of interior filling. Such furniture can have not only different dimensions and designs, but also a system of fastening door leaves. Cabinets can be equipped with a mechanism in which the doors run on the lower rollers, or have a top-hung system of operation.

The advantages of cabinet cabinets include the following points:

  • the ability to install furniture in any room, in a suitable place for it;
  • availability of a large selection of shapes and sizes of products;
  • protection of the walls of the room from external influences thanks to the side and rear walls of the cabinet.

In appearance, sliding wardrobes can be:

  • rectangular;
  • angular;
  • radius;
  • trapezoidal;
  • combined.

Depending on the style and design of the room, the availability of free space and the wishes of the owners, you can order any option that can satisfy the requests and wishes, organically fitting into a specific space.

Corner

In the absence of a free wall to accommodate a full cabinet, you can use a corner to solve this problem. The corner cabinet can be L-shaped, where the dimensions of each part will be adjusted to a certain room. Thanks to such a wardrobe, in a small area of the room, you can place a large number of things, rationally using the free space.

The height of such furniture can be different, depending on the ceilings in the room or the wishes of the owners. Internal filling must be carefully thought out in order to maximize the use of all zones of this furniture. The materials of the body and doors can be different, which allows the product to fit into any room. These cabinets are more expensive because they are made to order.

Direct

The classic version of wardrobes has a rectangular shape, which makes this furniture not too large and spacious enough. Thanks to a wide range of products in width, height and thickness, you can find the ideal option that will not clutter up the room and will allow you to put everything you need in one cabinet.

The attractiveness of this option is given by doors, which can be wooden, glass or mirrored, with patterns or patterns. Such cabinets have a low cost, therefore they are considered the most demanded option.

Built-in

Built-in wardrobes can be of two types:

  • not having a body, located in a niche or in a corner and closed with doors;
  • cabinet cabinet, which is adjusted to the dimensions of the niche and is neatly located in it.

The first option allows you to focus on the doors, which can be flat, curved or concave. Cabinets with curved elements are called radius cabinets. The structure is usually created from floor to ceiling, therefore, it makes the most of the free space. The main difference between the built-in wardrobes and the cabinet version is in the place of fastening of the guide rails for the doors. In products without a case, additional elements are attached to the floor and curtain, and in case versions - to the furniture itself.

Built-in cabinet cabinets should have the color of the facade that matches the shade of the walls or wallpaper as much as possible, so as not to stand out against their background.

Materials (edit)

To create wardrobe sliding-door wardrobes, various body materials can be used:

  • natural wood;
  • MDF;
  • laminated fiberboard;
  • Chipboard.

Each of the options has its own advantages and disadvantages, which are reflected in the cost of the finished product. In addition to the variety of body materials, there may be options for the manufacture of cabinet doors. Most often used:

  • MDF, fiberboard and chipboard;
  • mirror;
  • glass;
  • plastic.

The first option is considered the most budgetary and looks modest and minimalistic. Mirrored doors allow you to visually enlarge the room, make it brighter and more spacious. Glassware gives you the opportunity to experiment with colors and patterns. The choice of door material is based on the design of the room, personal wishes and financial capabilities.

MDF

Cabinets made of fiberboard have a pleasant appearance, they are practical, since the material is not afraid of temperature and humidity changes. The advantages of MDF include its low cost, compared to products made from natural wood. In addition, the finished cabinet structure is much lighter than the wood version.

The creation of MDF cabinets does not take too much time, so manufacturers can produce a large volume of products. Both the body itself and the doors can be made of this material. The minimalistic design is suitable for offices, utility rooms, children's rooms, where the safety of furniture plays a major role.

Laminated fiberboard

The basis for creating sliding wardrobes is wood-based panels, but in their natural form they are practically not used in production. To make the material more attractive and to increase the duration of operation, a varnish layer is applied on top. Thanks to this, it is possible to give the product any color and texture. Lacquered fiberboard has great strength and tolerates moisture and temperature changes, which allows you to get high-quality and durable furniture at an optimal cost.

Metal

In addition to the body and doors, metal elements are used in the process of creating sliding wardrobes. Guide strips for sliding door systems are made of aluminum and steel.

Steel elements are more reliable, however, they have greater weight and high cost, therefore, aluminum products are more often used, which do not last so long, but are easy to install and are much cheaper.

Glass

In the process of creating sliding wardrobes, various materials are used. The most variable component are doors, which can be made of MDF, glass and other options. Glass for furniture is used more dense so that it will reliably serve for many years and will not crack. To make the product safe, a special film is glued to the back wall, which prevents the glass from crumbling if it is nevertheless broken.

To give furniture an interesting appearance, transparent, matte, colored and tinted types of glass can be used. An ornament, pattern, texture or mosaic imitation can be applied to such a surface.

There is a type of glass for sliding wardrobes - triplex, where two glasses are glued together, creating the most durable surface.

Lakobel

In addition to ordinary glass, from which doors are created in wardrobes, there is a kind of material in which one of the sides is painted with a special compound. The protective layer can significantly increase the density of the material and maximally protect it from mechanical stress, extending the life of the finished product.

Plastic

In addition to MDF and glass, you can also use plastic to create doors in wardrobes. The most dense and high quality is the acrylic variety. Its main advantage can also be considered lightness, due to which the finished structure is lightweight, which is important for some premises.

The peculiarity of the material allows you to create doors of different designs, bending and directing them in any direction, which significantly increases the range of sliding wardrobes.

Filling

In addition to the appearance of the wardrobe, you should pay attention to its internal structure. The location of shelves, crossbars, compartments for small items can make the use of furniture as convenient as possible, and vice versa, so you need to think about what should be inside the cabinet. The filling of such furniture may look like this.

  • The most visible and convenient place is the hanger section, where shirts, blouses, pants and outerwear will hang.
  • A shoe compartment is placed in the lower part of the cabinet. These can be metal or wooden shelves.
  • The upper part should be equipped with a mezzanine, where you can put non-essential items.
  • If there are free zones, it is worthwhile to provide boxes where accessories, hats, scarves and gloves, ties and underwear can fit.
  • Side shelves, on which all items that do not require vertical storage can be laid out. Typically, such a pencil case is mounted from floor to ceiling.

Inside the wardrobe, you can install an additional bar for hangers if there is a need to store a lot of things on them. With significant dimensions of furniture, the number of compartments, shelves and drawers can be increased.

Thinking over the design of the future product, you need to clearly understand how many things, shoes, accessories and other items should fit in it, and the design of the finished cabinet will depend on this.

Dimensions (edit)

Sliding wardrobes have become a real breakthrough in the production of furniture, because there was no such variety of sizes, colors, materials and designs before. Now you can order a product that will be placed from floor to ceiling, using the entire usable area of the space allocated for it. For a small room, there are cabinets from 1 meter wide, which can easily fit even into a small niche. For large families, it is possible to order large wardrobes where you can fit the things of adults and children.

In addition to cabinet length and height, the depth can also be varied. The narrowest are sliding wardrobes of 30 cm, products of 45 cm will be more versatile.The most popular options are cabinets where the depth of furniture is 60 cm.The choice of dimensions is made on the basis of free space in the room, the number of things and the budget for the desired product.

Design

In addition to the variety of dimensions of wardrobes and the materials from which they can be created, it is worth noting the external features of these products. The design of such furniture can be created with the color of the facade, which can have a sufficiently wide range of shades that allow you to fit a new object into the interior. In addition, you can decorate the wardrobe with door decor.

A beautiful, stylish and interesting option is the use of glass doors, which can be patterned or engraved using sandblasting. The most fashionable option at the moment, which is chosen for the bedroom, nursery and living room, is photo printing. Thanks to the drawing on the glass surface, the sashes acquire an attractive appearance. A variety of designs can satisfy the tastes of any customer.

How to choose?

In order not to be mistaken with the choice of a wardrobe, you should:

  • determine exactly where the future piece of furniture will stand, measure the dimensions of this space;
  • calculate the size and depth of the cabinet so that it organically fits into the room and contains everything you need;
  • choose the color of the facade and the material of the doors, in the hallway you can choose a minimalistic design, and in the bedroom it is better to choose something beautiful, stylish and interesting;
