One of the main tasks solved when arranging a bedroom with stretch ceilings is the correct organization of lighting. It involves the selection and installation of those appliances that suit the room in the best possible way - both in terms of design and from a functional point of view. To achieve the best result, it is enough to take into account a few basic recommendations, each of which is described in detail below.

What can you use?

Until recently, the owners of the bedrooms did not pay much attention to their lighting. As a rule, this task was solved in the last turn - after the completion of the main repair work - and boiled down to a banal choice of a beautiful chandelier. An addition to the latter could be a smaller lamp - a floor lamp or a sconce, the installation of which was the "final chord".

The modern approach to arranging lighting in the bedroom is much more complicated - especially in the case of using a stretch ceiling. It involves the preliminary development of a project that takes into account all the stylistic and functional features of the premises.

In such situations, the choice of options is very wide, which allows you to implement any design ideas.

Chandeliers

The devices in question are especially appreciated by classic lovers who prefer the European lighting concept. This approach involves the mandatory use of the main element - a chandelier, complemented by more or less auxiliary light sources. As for the key conditions for the installation of the described device, such is the sufficient ceiling height. If it is not met, the owners of the room should abandon the classic (pendant) chandelier, opting for a flat variation.

Special attention should be paid to the bulbs used in the lighting fixture. If their operation is accompanied by strong heat generation, they should not be located close to the PVC ceiling. Ignoring this requirement can lead to deformation of the film under the influence of high temperature, leading to the impossibility of its further operation. One solution to this problem is to install a chandelier with downward-facing lamps. As for the design of the ceiling, which is the background for the mounted device, it can be almost anything.

The exception is canvases with images: you should not use chandeliers in combination with them, so as not to violate the integrity of perception.

Spotlights and spots

The main features of such devices are small size and low power. Most often they serve as an addition to the main light source, although their group can be a complete replacement for any chandelier. In most cases, such devices are placed evenly, building lines or geometric shapes from them.

There are 3 types of devices under consideration.

  • Embedded. The body of the lighting fixture is located behind a stretch ceiling, so that it is not conspicuous. The disadvantages of this design are the relatively small dispersion angle and poor ventilation.
  • Overhead. Almost the entire body of the device is outside, which makes it very noticeable, but saves space behind the stretch ceiling. The width of the luminous flux is somewhat wider than that of the built-in version. An obvious plus is the variety of shapes offered by manufacturers (annular, cubic, cylindrical, spherical, and others).
  • Spots. A characteristic feature is the presence of a swivel mechanism.Such lamps can be installed not only individually, but also in groups (the second option involves the use of a track or a common base). The design of the spots allows you to change the direction of their luminous flux, which is a noticeable advantage.

In general, the solutions listed above belong to the budget category. Almost any chandelier will cost more than a group of spotlights that provide the same level of illumination. At the same time, the variety of such devices allows you to achieve an equally impressive visual effect.

LED panels and LED luminaires

Such devices are a set of diodes located on one base and covered with frosted organic glass. This design allows you to get a fairly bright and at the same time unobtrusive light, especially important for the bedroom. The required number of devices is determined by the size of the room, as well as the number and power of the diodes used. Most often, 1-3 LED panels are enough for full bedroom lighting.

Special attention should be paid to the form of the described devices. The most popular variations are:

  • round;
  • rectangular;
  • square.

In addition, LED panels and lamps with original shapes are becoming more and more popular.

LED strips

The described solutions are represented by thin stripes on which LEDs are located. The inner surface of such tapes is equipped with an adhesive layer, which greatly simplifies the procedure for their installation. The most popular placement methods are listed below.

  • Directly on the ceiling. The tapes are covered with a translucent film, the color of which is chosen by the owner of the premises. You can arrange them both linearly and with folds, allowing you to create fancy patterns.
  • Using special profiles. The installation of the tape in the gap between the stretch ceiling and the walls is envisaged.
  • Uniform placement across the floor. This technique allows you to achieve the glow of the entire surface of the ceiling, which looks very impressive.

Another option for installing an LED strip is along the perimeter of the bedroom. Compared to other solutions, it looks more prosaic, and its main advantage is ease of installation.

Illumination "Starry sky"

This option is a godsend for lovers of original lighting, like a magnet attracting the eyes of others. It is not easy to implement, but the result will easily justify the necessary costs. The basis of the "starry sky" is a dark blue or black film, often decorated with photo printing on a space theme.

As for the luminaries, they are imitated by means of:

  • fiber optic with a projector;
  • small diodes;
  • special pins.

Particularly important is the chaotic distribution of such elements over the surface of the web. This allows you to achieve the maximum naturalness of the installed backlight.

Colors of light

In order for the lighting in the bedroom to be perceived as comfortable as possible, attention should be paid to its temperature. It is desirable that it does not exceed 2700 K, which corresponds to conventional incandescent lamps. In addition to warm, neutral light is also suitable for a bedroom, in many ways reminiscent of the rays of the daytime sun.

It is also important to take into account that all devices used must have approximately the same color temperature - otherwise it will be difficult for the eyes to adapt to them. An exception can be made only for accent lighting, if the owner of the bedroom considers it justified.

It is no less responsible to approach the choice of lighting that is different from the classic one. It must be remembered that:

  • red is very romantic, but does not predispose to rest;
  • shades of blue promote maximum relaxation;
  • green tones invigorate and balance.

Considering that the decor in the bedroom changes depending on the time of day and other factors, it makes sense to rely on several light sources. Alternatively, you can install the main device and several auxiliary ones, including them one at a time or together. Also, experts advise installing a special device - a dimmer, which allows you to change the light intensity and even its shade (in the case of colored LEDs).

Location options

There are 3 main lighting concepts used in bedrooms with stretch ceilings.

  • Classic. The central light source is a pendant chandelier, organically complemented by auxiliary devices.
  • Modern. Uniform illumination of the entire room, not involving the use of the main element.
  • Combined. Both of the above options are combined with each other (you can use them both simultaneously and separately).

The first concept is most often suited to traditional styles, while the second is more modern.

With chandelier

As a rule, in such cases, the lighting fixture is mounted in the central part of the ceiling. Separate schemes allow the use of two chandeliers at once - for example, to illuminate an elongated room or zoning a bedroom-living room. As for the spots, they are most often placed symmetrically around the main element, according to one of the following principles:

  • square;
  • oval;
  • parallel lines;
  • arcs;
  • corners.

The latter option provides for the installation of groups of spots, each of which has from 3 to 5 lighting fixtures. They are placed in two or all four corners of the bedroom. We should also mention such schemes as “wave” and “snake”. They are especially suitable for elongated or large bedrooms - with one or two chandeliers, respectively.

Without chandelier

The option under consideration is suitable for those who want to do with point light sources, without installing a main device. The solution to such a problem requires a preliminary calculation to determine the exact number of elements used. An equally important role is played by the location of the latter on the ceiling, implemented according to several basic schemes:

  • spiral, the turns of which are round or oval;
  • a matrix assuming the installation of lamps at the intersection of perpendicular lines (as an example, you can cite a notebook in a cage);
  • two arcs located in parallel in one of the corners of the stretch ceiling;
  • rhombuses placed along the center line of the entire canvas;
  • "Starry sky", the key feature of which is the combination of lamps with the image printed on the ceiling.

As additional elements, most often carrying a decorative function, LED strips can be used.

Examples in the interior

Finally, it remains to consider various variations of bedroom lighting design, determined by the features of the stretch ceiling. Here are some examples for glossy canvases:

  • sconces on both sides of the bed, spotlights around the perimeter of the ceiling;
  • a chandelier in the central part of the stretched canvas, LED strip and point light sources - as an addition;
  • the image of the starry sky on the ceiling is organically complemented by a blue LED strip and point devices along the perimeter.

For ceilings with a matte surface, the following variations are characteristic:

  • harmonious combination of white LED strip and spotlights;
  • the same combination, complemented by a chandelier, a pair of sconces and a floor lamp;
  • a spectacular chandelier in the central part of the ceiling, several spotlights and sconces.

Satin canvases have their own examples:

  • a spectacular combination of spotlights and LED strips;
  • the use of sconces and floor lamps in combination with compact ceiling fixtures;
  • a chandelier as the main element, complemented by spotlights and a pair of table lamps.

Many other options are possible, depending on the specifics of the premises and the preferences of its owner.
