Should you be upset if the color of your beard and mustache is lighter than your hair and eyebrows? Many people think that it is unusual and even fashionable, and artificially change the shade of facial hair. Surely, everyone will be interested in understanding why the color of the beard changes if a person does not apply his hand to it, and at the same time learn how to improve the appearance of this attribute of masculinity if gray hair appears.

Causes of blonde hair

The predominance of light hair on the chin and cheeks, which is strikingly different in color from the hair on the top of the head, can be due to several reasons.

Natural factor

Melanin is a pigment, on the production of which the color of hair and vegetation on the face and body depends. In combination with the activity of the melanocortin-1 receptor, either the dark type of pigment or the light type predominates. However, the difference in the shade of the beard and hair can be due to the process of growing up, as this can reduce the synthesis of melanin. Perhaps this is the main reason that a man's hair is darker than a mustache and beard. In this case, a light beard is the result of a natural aging of the body.

Heredity

Of course, a light, fair-haired beard with darker hairstyles is a certain sign of the breed, that is, an individual genetic code that can be passed on from both close and distant relatives. If a man's father, uncle or grandfather had blond hair on his chin, this feature could well have passed on to him.

Often, the shade of the beard depends on which color type the person's appearance belongs to. Light vegetation on the chin most often suggests in men:

  • pale or pink tinge of the skin;
  • light eyes - blue, gray, green;
  • Brown hair.

Blonde hair in most cases darkens with age, while the beard may remain light. Eyebrows, as a rule, are always darker than hair and beard, since dark pigment in this area is intensively produced throughout life. But keeping in mind that the body of each person is individual, it is not surprising that with a certain genetic code, a man can have brown and black hair, dark eyes and a light beard.

Gray hair

The third reason that the stubble has lightened is age-related changes in the male body. Often, the beard can turn gray much earlier than the head, due to a deficiency of an important amino acid called tyrosine, which we get from protein foods. With a passion for vegetarian diets, a decrease in its level can lead to just such a result. But not always - sometimes the beard turns gray due to the unsatisfactory state of the nervous system and malfunctions of the endocrine organs.

Even under the same living conditions, two different men may have gray hair at the age of 20, 40, or remain a natural shade until old age. And here again the hereditary program plays the main role. This process itself is determined by the deterioration of the work of enzymatic substances that destroy hydrogen peroxide. Because of this, voids form in the hair shaft and it looks discolored.

Unfortunately, the beard does not always turn gray evenly, and in men after 30 years of age, the changes can be of a point nature. Foci, individual spots, graying appears quite rarely. In both of these cases, the situation can be corrected by dyeing the hair in a light tone to make it look uniform.

Painting and lightening

It doesn't matter what makes men dye their beard hair - a tribute to a fashionable trend or the early appearance of chaotic gray hair, first of all, it is necessary that the atypical image be organic and natural.

It is not necessary to visit the hairdresser every time for coloring. - there are simple ways to lighten, with which you can give your hair the desired, lighter shade.

Among the tools suitable for this, the following can be distinguished.

  • Hydrogen peroxide (1 bottle) mixed with 2 ampoules of ammonia and 10 tablets of hydropyrite. This composition will discolor the hair, but you can keep it on the beard for no more than 20 minutes, so as not to burn it.
  • The combined product is prepared from 4 large tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tbsp. tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. The resulting homogeneous mixture is applied to the hair and kept for 7-8 minutes. The procedure can be done 2 times a week.
  • Gradual lightening will allow you to achieve a mask made from natural honey. It is diluted with a small amount of water and applied to vegetation before bedtime, washed off in the morning. It is allowed to add dry cinnamon powder to honey.
  • Folk recipe for painting with a decoction of ordinary chamomile. This is a gentle method, which also makes the hair manageable and less coarse. If you don't like the bristles that are too dark and stand out on the face, chamomile will help to soften its shade and give a golden color. Dry flowers are poured with boiling water and infused for 3-4 hours, the infusion is applied to the beard with a cotton pad several times a week.

If desired, you can carry out bleaching and subsequent coloring in the salon, but for this, choose a male master with appropriate experience and recommendations. Salon coloring makes it possible to achieve the desired result immediately and get just such a shade that is in perfect harmony with the image.

How to care?

Caring for a light beard, including a dyed beard, comes down to a few simple, but important procedures.

  • For weakened, coarse and lightened hair with chemical dyes, you need a high-quality shampoo, preferably for frequent use and based on vegetable oils and extracts that help soften and nourish the hairs from the inside.
  • To maintain the appearance and beauty of the beard, it is recommended to use a balm immediately after washing, which improves the structure of the hair and moisturizes it.
  • 1-2 times a week to strengthen and shine your hair, apply special products containing useful natural oils to your beard. Valuable vitamins and minerals will support the hair, saturate it with strength and energy, and prevent dryness.

You can renew the color on a dyed beard once every 1-1.5 months, but not more often if the products contain ammonia and other components harmful to vegetation.
