Men should pay attention to parkas when choosing a versatile outerwear suitable for the autumn and winter period. In the general sense of the word, the park is a jacket with an elongated style hood. They can be light or insulated, depending on the season. The design of the park assumes the presence of decorative elements or their complete absence. The presented version of jackets is ideal for men of all ages and sizes. In the park, you can go to any holiday and even to a solemn event, while the man will look fashionable and stylish.

A bit of history

According to historical information, the word "park" has German roots. On the territory of the Aleutian Islands, this word is used in the conversation about skins. Few people know that the presented wardrobe item was invented by the Eskimos... For them, first of all, such qualities as water resistance, protection from cold and strong winds were important. The very first examples of parkas looked somewhat different than modern models. Instead of modern polyester and cotton, animal skins turned out with the fur were used when sewing. And so that the pile does not collect moisture, it was treated with fish oil.

But this type of outerwear did not belong to the Eskimos for a long time. The elongated version of the park became famous all over the world thanks to the American soldiers. In the 50s, pilots who worked in extreme conditions began to wear them. A unique modification of the park was developed especially for them. Its outer part was made of nylon in a traditional gray-green color. However, some models used a swamp shade. The texture of the inner material resembled a thick blanket made of natural wool.

Closer to the 70s, they began to use polyester when sewing parkas. In all respects, this material turned out to be of better quality, it is light in weight and very warm. The clasp of the parka ended above the chin, only half of the face was visible. This design feature limited the general overview, but in no way prevented the representative of the stronger sex from enjoying the warmth. In addition, in the first models of the parka there was a wide hood with fur trim. Initially, natural fur was used, and after a while, fashion designers began to replace it with artificial material.

Later, the parks interested ordinary people in the United States of America. This outerwear option has proven to be comfortable and practical. The quality of products was highly appreciated by society, which is why parkas have become the most common type of outerwear. However, the peak of popularity came only at the end of the 70s and lasted for 5 years. At the same time, the designers did not change the traditional marsh colors of the jacket, only the lining was upgraded.

As you know, the demand of society is accompanied by the supply of manufacturers. Accordingly, the increase in sales growth led to an oversupply of goods in the market. Almost all Americans bought one parka each, which is why there was a sharp decline in interest in this type of jackets. The fashion for parks was replaced by other models of outerwear. And after a few years, the product, which is highly valued by the Eskimos, began to be considered the clothing of the poor and commoners. But this did not last long. Parks regained their popularity in the early 90s and have not lost their relevance since then.

Modern fashion designers have managed to create unique varieties of men's parkas. Products can be off-season or winter, with or without a hood, colorful or traditional swamp, military or classic.

Models

Traditional version the length of classic men's parkas reaches the hip, however, the lineup of this type of outerwear is filled with other modifications of jackets. Among them, you can find both shortened versions and products that resemble coats. Thanks to this variety, every man with an individual body structure will be able to choose a stylish model that matches the season.

Winter models of parks inside they have linings made of natural or artificial furs... And products intended for European winters are equipped with padding polyester or holofiber. A distinctive feature of parkas is a high collar, thanks to which you can hide most of your face in severe frosts and blizzards.

To protect yourself as much as possible, a hood with fur trim is put on the head... It is worth noting that the fur trend in decorative design has added a special personality to the parks. The trim on the hood is made of wolf fur, coyote, raccoon or arctic fox fur. A fur collar allows a man not only to add charm to the image, but also to keep warm in sub-zero temperatures. At the same time, the fashion for fluffy fur in no way influenced the use of cropped wool clothing, among which rabbit fur is very popular.

Modern fashion designers have very finely worked out the lineup of parkas and created winter models with detachable hoodwhere the fur trim is also removed. Also, the designers revised the presence of a drawstring, which is why winter models do not have tightening elements at the waist. However, its absence does not affect the convenience, comfort and warmth of the park. Elongated fur models have a straight cut, so men can wear parkas over classic suits, sportswear, oversized sweaters and any other wardrobe item. But most importantly, if you have a fur hood, you can refuse a hat.

Off-season models parkas for men differ from winter options in the presence of a thin insulation. The basis for lightweight models are cotton and mixed textiles treated with water-repellent impregnation. When it's not very cold outside, you can wear a cropped jacket. First, it looks impressive. Secondly, it is warm, cozy and comfortable in it. But the main thing is that even when a cold wind occurs, a man will not freeze. Parkas made of leather or suede look very interesting. Despite the fact that demi-season clothing does not imply the presence of furs, designers do not refuse to use this decorative insert.

In light modifications of parks, most often missing hood... But they are complemented by large patch pockets with decorative stitching. Youth options are equipped with bright patches that attract the attention of others. The decor can be located not only along the body, but also on the sleeves, most often on the elbow bend. A light parka is fastened with a zipper or buttons.

We looked at the seasonal options for parks - let's get acquainted with their varieties.

  • Anorak park. In this modification of the jacket there is a fastener that reaches only the middle of the chest. For this reason, the anorak belongs to a subsection of sports jackets designed for everyday wear.
  • Ski park. The presented variety is as finely tuned as possible to the sport mode. When sewing ski jackets, only high-quality materials are used. The main characteristics of the presented variety are lightness, airiness and volume.
  • Military style parks. In this case, we are talking about the usual military style. When sewing such jackets, khaki materials with a camouflage pattern are used. Military-style parkas have many interesting decorative patches, pockets of different sizes, and metal fittings.
  • Denim style parkas. The presented variety of jackets is made of denim material. They can be designed both for winter wear and for demi-season use. In winter models, there is a fur lining, in demi-season models, a light insulation is laid.

Materials (edit)

Traditionally, when sewing parkas, dense water-repellent fabrics are used, which makes this type of jacket the most unique among most types of outerwear. However, there are different variations in the performance of both winter and off-season jackets.

  • Leather. The modern market is replete with a variety of different models of leather parkas. They can be made entirely of leather or have only some leather parts, for example, sleeves. Leather can also be used for decorating pockets and cuffs, in places where there is a high probability of rapid erasure of the material. There are also models of parkas in which the leather is present exclusively in the lower part of the jacket. However, genuine leather products are expensive. As an analogue, fashion designers create jackets from leatherette, which in its characteristics is very similar to the original material, but has a lower price.
  • Jeans. Mostly denim is used to create off-season parkas. Young and active representatives of the stronger sex prefer to wear them. Denim parkas are often decorated with faux fur or sheepskin. The sleeves and hood are complemented by thick and long fur.
  • Cotton. This material is used in the creation of off-season parks. Cotton fabric is a serious protector against windy weather. Of course, it does not have good thermal properties, but it is highly durable. In cotton parks, you can go for walks in the mountains or in the forest, and it is also suitable for outdoor sports activities.
  • Insulation. When creating winter models, natural and artificial furs are used. But along with them, synthetic insulation is also used. In this case, we are talking about synthetic winterizer and microfiber. In some models, fashion designers use down-feathers as insulation. The neckline and cuffs are complemented with knitted woolen or semi-woolen material.

Color spectrum

According to the traditional design, classic parkas have a swamp hue or camouflage colors. However, modern fashion designers have managed to rework the concept of a nondescript range and add a tangible flavor to it. Trendy parkas can be red, yellow, blue and green. However, older men prefer parkas in dark tones that go well with any style of casual wear. Parks of bright colors are chosen by young people. Guys in their prime are ready to put on jackets of the most "delicious" tones, thereby attracting the enthusiastic glances of those around them.

  • Parkas with a fur collar in olive, green, cherry, orange or red are ideal for young men under 25.
  • The black color of the parka is versatile. Such models are suitable for any situation. The classic cut is perfect for casual jeans as well as a business wardrobe.
  • Navy blue models are the most practical choice for men. The color is not easily soiled, bright in its own way. This means it is ideal for both adult men and young guys.

                • When making a real parka exclusively dense materials are used, for example, nylon or cotton, which are impregnated with a special wax on top. nylon
                cotton
                • The ideal option for parka insulation is isosoft and fluff... Only down jackets are designed for the coldest climates. For the winter in European countries, men choose lighter modifications.
                • Parka hood should be tightly fastened to the jacket using special rivets or Velcro. The neckline should be high, reaching up to the chin, thereby closing the neck.
                • On the sleeves many models of parkas have puffs, thanks to which the fabric fits snugly to the wrists.
                • The fact that the selected park has partial gluing of the seams, speaks of the high quality of the product. It is in such models that you can be sure that they are waterproof and will protect the owner of the jacket from the cold.
                • The main thing when choosing a suitable parka is to try on the product. The model must match the height and size of the man. So, parks, the length of which reaches the middle of the thigh, look perfect on the representatives of the sterner sex of short stature. But the long models are in harmony with the tall men.
                • Youth parks may have an unusual design, it is very important to check how they are stitched or glued.

Men with active lifestyles skillfully complement a discreet jacket design with a sporty style. Parks look very harmonious with jeans and straight-cut trousers. However, when putting together the correct set, you should consider the color scheme of the top and bottom of the bow.

The original decor of the park requires that the set of clothing underneath is not inferior in perception. In simple terms, you should not wear an expensive fur jacket with a regular tracksuit, and even more so go to a business meeting or date like this... A classic suit with a shirt will look very interesting under a fur park. In this way, a man can go to work, visit and a social event.
