An Italian mustache is now very popular with many men. What kind of style it is, who suits it, and how to care for such a mustache, we will talk in the article.

Description

An Italian mustache is one of the currently popular varieties of men's mustache, which in combination with a beard is called "balbo". Now you can't say for sure who is the founder of this style, but there is reliable information about the person who popularized it.

This person was Italo Balbo, an Italian military and political figure, thanks to whom the style received its second name.

Such a mustache has a number of distinctive characteristics:

  • the presence of sideburns, although this criterion is not required;

  • there is no fusion of the beard and mustache in the areas of the corners of the lips;

  • clarity, accuracy and severity of the contours, while the mustache should repeat the smile of its owner and be cut to the same length;

  • visual volume and thickening.

At the same time, this style gives free rein to imagination, allowing you to experiment, since there are different variations of the beard models that are attached to the mustache: this is a goatee in different forms, and a goatee. The classic look of the beard, which goes in addition to the Italian mustache, is shaped like an inverted T.

Who are they suitable for?

This style is suitable for almost everyone, as it is versatile and has many variations. With other favorable conditions, he is able not only to emphasize masculinity and give some charm, but also to hide some flaws. So, this style, combined with a beard, has been chosen by many famous personalities, including Robert Downey Jr., Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom.

Most often, barbers recommend this style to men who have a round face, square, triangular and trapezoidal.

On a round face, such a mustache is usually combined with a goatee or a triangular beard. At the same time, the mustache should be small and neat. Having chosen this style, you can visually change the roundness of the face, as if to stretch it, which will add a touch of some extravagance, but at the same time, masculinity.

If we talk about square faces, then this style of mustache can give soft features, but at the same time make the face more expressive, emphasizing the cheekbones. Usually, sideburns are recommended for a square face, which should be strict and not wide.

On a man who has a triangular face shape, this style also looks extremely beneficial. It helps to emphasize all the external dignity and adds some brutality to the whole image, thereby making it whole.

For men with a trapezoidal face, a classic haircut is most often advised, which implies an anchor-shaped beard, which is adjoined by an elegant mustache of short length. This style helps to soften the facial features by slightly correcting them.

Despite the fact that the style is notable for its versatility, it is not suitable for everyone. So, it is simply contraindicated for those men who have thin and soft hair. This style is not suitable for those who have a massive and rough jaw.

How to care?

To create a beautiful Italian mustache that will suit you and your image, it is better to turn to a professional and experienced barber in the salon, however, basic care for them, that is, styling, can be done with your own hands at home. All you need is wax and a scallop.

First of all, for styling, you need to comb the mustache well and carefully, after that you need to take the required amount of wax and knead it in your hands, ensuring that the wax mass becomes warmer and more elastic. Next, the resulting mass is applied to the lower area of the mustache, after which it is given the desired shape. Taking a smaller amount of wax, they process the tips of the mustache and, if necessary for your style, twist them a little. After that, the mustache is kept in the desired position for a few more minutes, waiting for the substance to solidify. Next, you must carefully remove the remaining wax, if any.

At this stage, the styling process ends. After the wax is fully solidified, the mustache takes on a perfect look.

If we talk about the rest of the care, then such a mustache must be regularly trimmed and combed every day according to hair growth. To emphasize the shape and remove unnecessary hairs that grow back over time, you need to purchase a trimmer. Sharp ends are trimmed with a sharp razor.

Professionals recommend trimming the mustache in a dried form, not additionally moisturizing it, but limiting itself only to a thorough combing.
