A shirt, or a shirt, is an element of clothing that has long and firmly established itself in the wardrobes of people of very different social status. Initially an attribute of a modest brutal men's set of clothes, over time, the shirt has replenished and remarkably diversified women's collections.

Over the years, designers have proposed a whole bunch of solutions, which later became the directions of fashion development. There was an uneasy search for the length of the sleeves. Equally fascinating is the history of collars.

However, throughout its evolution, one of the most pressing problems remained, and still remains now - the search for ways to beautifully and correctly fill the hem.

Types and features of shirts

Firstly, shirts can have different lengths, and this is worth paying attention to, since a short shirt can never be tucked securely into trousers, and it will knock out even with average physical activity. Conversely, a long one can create discomfort when tucked into trousers, but even when worn for a release, it will look very ridiculous if its size does not match.

This rule is primarily relevant for men, girls, as always, are allowed more, and a shirt for release is not at all unacceptable.

Secondly, shirts differ in the shape of the hem:

  • smooth - the front and back are the same length, and the cut is straight;
  • with equal cut - there are cutouts on the sides of the shirt, and the front and back parts are equal;
  • with uneven cutouts - the back is larger.

Each of these options can be worn in different ways. The shape of the neckline and the length of the hem or parts of it don't really matter much. Products with a straight hem can be either tucked in or put on for release.

The same applies to cutouts. Some stylists in no way recommend wearing a shirt with a long back part of the hem for release, others advise - having tucked in the back part, leave both or only one half of the front part free. Girls, on the other hand, are advised to leave the back untimed so that it flutters beautifully when walking.

Thirdly, shirts are strict and sporty. In the first case, they, as a rule, are devoid of decorative elements, are made of thin fabric and have a monochromatic, not particularly bright color. A pocket is usually one, rarely two. It is recommended to wear such models with a formal suit and, of course, tuck into trousers.

Sports shirts are more diverse both in the presence and combination of decorative elements, and in the fabric used for their manufacture.... It is not always necessary to fill them in, and in addition, they can be combined with T-shirts or T-shirts and not buttoned up at all.

Ways to refuel

So, refueling or not refueling is a separate and not easy question. Not everything and not always can be worn for release. Let's return to our main question, how to tuck a shirt into trousers or jeans.

The simplest solution is to put on trousers, push the hem of the shirt under them with your fingers, and then pull it all up with a belt. If you do this, discomfort is guaranteed during the day. The shirt will be knocked out, and, most likely, unevenly; unpleasant bubbles on the sides and ugly thickenings under the trousers in the most unexpected places will surely appear.

As is often the case, the simplest solution is not the right one.

Here are some of the most reliable ways to place the hem of your shirt under your pants.

Basic (classic) way

Works only with a well-sized shirt. It can be presented step by step as follows:

  • put on a shirt and button up all the buttons;
  • put on pants (trousers or jeans) and, straightening the folds of the shirt in front, button them;
  • if a belt is intended, then carefully tighten and fasten it.

Basic improved

Everything is the same, but with the undershirt. A tank top will help keep your shirt under your pants. Of course, this method is not suitable for everyone, but sometimes you can give up your principles for an important business meeting. The best result is obtained if the T-shirt is tucked into the panties, of course, for this it must be thin, well-fitting., otherwise there will be twice as many problems, since the shirt and the T-shirt will be knocked out together.

With the use of additional accessories

In a modern business suit, suspenders for a shirt, which are attached to the belt at the thigh, just above the knee, or to the socks, may be appropriate. In the latter case, the socks will always be pulled up, and the shirt, respectively, down.

The disadvantage of this method is elastic bands and fasteners hidden under clothing, but felt during movement. For a business meeting, such technical means are quite suitable, but with even a little physical activity, they can become a serious factor of irritation.

Army way

Great for eliminating bubbles on the sides and front, even if the shirt is a little oversized. All this can be presented step by step as follows:

  • put on and button up a shirt with all buttons;
  • while straightening the hem of the shirt, put on pants, but do not button them;
  • form a fold on the side with your thumb and forefinger, straighten it to the edge of the hem and press it with your trousers, do the same from the other side;
  • fasten pants and belt.

    That, in general, is all. Humanity could not offer anything else to make a shirt tucked into its pants look beautiful.

    However, as usual, human thought did not stop there, all sorts of options for filling the hem of the shirt appeared, we will not talk about the shirts for release now.

    For men

    The attitude to the male image and, accordingly, to the male shirt remained quite strict for a long time. However, in the second half of the 20th century, it also changed. Post-war Europe began to liberate men, followed by America, and soon this wave rolled around the world. It turned out to be not only possible, but also fashionable to tuck a shirt in a different way, in contrast to the classics of business and army styles described above. Consider alternatives.

    • The shirt is tucked in half. One edge of the hem hangs in front of the pants, the other is tucked in; right or left - it doesn't really matter. The back of the shirt should also be tucked in. It should be noted that this method is not suitable for everyone. Before leaving the house in this form, it is still better to critically look at yourself in the mirror. Alas, not everyone is able to catch the fine line of style and slovenliness.
    • The shirt is tucked in at the front. The back of the hem is not tucked in at all. This method can look stylish with both formal trousers and jeans. However, it is also far from immediately possible to feel it. This method requires a very critical assessment before appearing in such an image in front of the public, again so as not to arouse suspicion of sloppiness. The shirt should be strictly in size, including in the waist area.

    For women

        The relations of women with shirts turned out to be much freer. For them, an accessory was invented that eliminates the problem of a knock-out hem by 100%. The shirt is combined with a bodysuit, which is fastened in the groin area. Such an element of clothing is never knocked out, and annoying folds and bubbles on it are simply impossible.

        Besides, women are allowed to wear shirts of various lengths and sizes... They are refueled in any of the ways described for men: from strict business classics to a loose hem or the entire front part, or the fluttering back of the hem of a wide shirt.
