Even though women are more experienced than men in removing excess body hair, services in this delicate beauty field will surprise neither one nor the other. And demand male depilation - is almost an ordinary phenomenon. Although not all men, no doubt, are ready to turn to specialists to remove excess vegetation in intimate areas. But homemade methods and techniques can be just as effective. If, of course, you know how to carry out the procedure yourself correctly from start to finish.

Benefit and harm

Many men don't know the difference between epilation and depilation. Depilation Is a temporary hair removal method when the part of the hair that is above the skin is removed. Epilation involves the removal of hair along with the growth bulb.

The question of whether to depilate hair in the intimate area or not depends not only on biological and hygienic reasons.... It is also a cultural aspect. Russia is a multinational country, and Muslim traditions, for example, prescribe not getting rid of groin hair. Therefore, those men who are true to these traditions will not resort to depilation. For them, this is not a question of comfort, but a question of upbringing, loyalty to culture, etc.

In Western European culture, this delicate topic also does not imply a consensus of opinion. Large magazines, together with sociologists and biological researchers, have repeatedly conducted polls on topics, for example, how women relate to the depilated groin area on the male body. AND on average, about half of women prefer to have sex with men who are regularly depilated.

And here is what the doctors' arguments in favor of male depilation look like:

  • shaved genitals of both men and women are less prone to infections;
  • basic hygiene considerations favor shaving the hair in the groin - the longer it is, the more moisture will accumulate there, and the more attractive this area is for bacterial growth.

Concerning harm, which can bring the very process of depilation in the bikini area, this is due only to irritations and allergic reactions to one or another component. In this case, you will need to experiment to find the right tool for yourself.

Irritations can be treated with soothing balms and creams.

The ways

There are several popular ways to remove hair from the intimate area in a standard home environment.

Wax depilation

This method works well for removing coarse and thick hair, which is usually found in the groin. The hot wax can delay the new removal procedure by about 10 days. First, the wax is melted, then applied to the removal zone along the hairline, and removed against the growth line. Wax residues are removed with a damp cloth. The depilation site is treated with a suitable sedative. Wax strips can also be used in the groin area, but this method cannot be called convenient. Wax is what you need, and only the strips will remain to remove vegetation from the legs.

Sugaring (depilation with sugar)

This method is usually chosen by men with sensitive skin and possible allergic reactions to the wax depilator. Most often, shugaring is done by a master, but you can carry out this procedure at home. The mixture is heated and melted, applied to the pubis against hair growth, it penetrates deeper and tears hair off the surface of the skin. The composition of the sugar mixture will depend on the level of hair stiffness.

Cream depilator

Allows you to remove hair as painlessly as possible... True, the result will not last for a long time, maximum 6 days - and you will have to depilate again.

How to do it right?

There is also a preparatory stage in this delicate matter. For example, it is believed that for a better grip of the hair, the vegetation in the groin needs to grow up to 5 mm. The day before the procedure, the skin in the intimate area can be scrubbed. It is better to carry out the removal itself in the evening, since the level of the pain threshold at this time of day is optimal.

How to remove hair using shugaring.

  1. The optimal hair length for the procedure is 5-7 mm, at least 3 mm. If the length is longer, when applying a special paste, the hair will pull strongly. That is, the soreness will be much more pronounced. And the duration of the procedure itself will increase for longer hair.
  2. Before shugaring, you need to take a shower. It's more comfortable to work this way. It is better not to apply oily creams and deodorants to the skin 24 hours before depilation. After a shower (or rather, during a water procedure), scrubbing is also necessary. The scrub can be coffee, salt, or sugar.
  3. If the procedure is performed in a salon, the master will show you which pain reliever he is using. At home, the man takes care of this himself. Usually it is Emla cream, Lidocaine spray or analogs of these funds. But the effect of these products will not appear too quickly, because they act through the skin. That is, it is possible that they will begin to act only in an hour.
  4. Shugaring paste for male intimate places is usually thick, tough. Still, male hair is tougher than female hair, hence the difference in the compositions, and the reason that if the husband decided to use his wife's sugar paste, he may not get anything done, or the procedure will not be entirely effective and painful enough.
  5. So, the skin is cleaned, fat-free. Now you need to apply talcum powder or powder with a degreasing effect on it. Before that, a special serum is sometimes applied for growing small hairs (in order to better capture them with a paste). But she may not always be at home.
  6. A working piece of paste is formed and spread over the surface of the depilation. The caramel must be applied in a visible layer.
  7. A layer of caramel is removed like this - acceleration, jerk. You cannot press on the sugar paste at the time of removal. Since the skin is delicate, it needs to be powdered with talcum powder from time to time.

It's realistic to do everything yourself, but usually men first go to the salon, look at the procedure from the side, and then repeat it at home.

And even with this method, the full picture, of course, does not open to them. But it becomes clearer what goes after what, what manipulations are carried out. If you can't come to the salon (banal shyness), you need to prepare theoretically, watch training videos, etc.

And yet, not all men are ready to undergo shugaring or wax depilation (the procedure is almost the same as described above), and in the form of depilation they prefer regular shaving. This is normal and perfectly acceptable even with more effective but less familiar options. But here, too, there are tricks.

For a standard, but high-quality shaving of hair in the intimate area, a man will need: razor, mirror, nail scissors, shaving gel or foam.

Step by step instructions - hair removal in the groin with a razor.

  1. Hair, if necessary, must be trimmed first. The haircut is carried out only on dry hair. If you do not cut it in advance, the hair will clog the machine, the blades will become dull and the procedure will be painful, ineffective, and even dangerous. Of course, the hair is not cut at the root. Their length is up to 1 cm.
  2. The skin should be steamed, therefore you need to take a shower or a bath, go to the bath. After that, a depilatory product should be applied to clean skin. It is selected individually, taking into account the type of man's skin.
  3. Hair must be shaved properly. First, the area above the penis is shaved. The machine moves only in the direction of hair growth. If you do the movements incorrectly, the hairs will begin to grow in. You cannot put pressure on the machine. Then the hair is shaved off the side, the skin needs to be pulled a little. After the sides, the vegetation between the penis and the scrotum is shaved off. Here they act gently, slowly, since the skin in this area is as delicate as possible.
  4. The procedure is carried out in front of a mirror so that a man can see the quality of depilation, coverage of all zones. After each movement, the machine is rinsed in water. The hotter the water, the better (kills bacteria).

Post-depilation care

If sugaring or wax depilation was performed, it is impossible to wet the intimate area for several hours... It is strictly forbidden to use a washcloth. Sauna and hot bath are excluded for 5 days. Otherwise, an inflammatory process is possible on the treated skin.

If redness and irritation appear in the depilation area, the skin can be lubricated with hydrogen peroxide or a softening, soothing plant-based cream.... After a week, you can use a special tool that prevents the appearance of ingrown hairs.

Attention! 2 days after shugaring or waxing, you should not have sex. Soreness during intimate contact may be excessive, and inflammation in the treatment area is more likely to occur.

If the depilation was carried out by regular shaving, after the procedure the man takes a shower - this way he washes off the remnants of foam, gel and the removed hairs themselves. If they remain on the skin, itching and irritation can be an unwanted consequence of depilation. But it is categorically impossible to intensively wipe the groin after shaving with a towel, it is harmful to vulnerable skin.

The skin should be gently blotted, and then a soothing (or cooling) cream should be applied to it. You do not need to rub it, it must be absorbed by itself. And only when the cream is absorbed, you can put on your underwear. It is great if it is completely natural. If cuts appear during shaving, they will certainly be treated with antiseptics. They should always be at hand during depilation.

Islam places great emphasis on both personal hygiene and cleanliness in general. Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Purity is half of faith." It is advisable to remove hair in the groin and armpits every Friday, it is forbidden to leave it for more than 40 days.
