When planning a business trip or vacation, people often prefer to travel by plane, as this method of travel can significantly save time. Many people, especially men, are interested in whether it is possible to take a razor on a plane.

Men use a razor every day, so keep it close at hand. But not every item you need can be taken on the plane in hand luggage. For safety reasons, rules have been developed that determine what you can take with you. The general guidelines are followed throughout the world, but each airline may have different requirements for the list of prohibited items.

The fact is that the basic rules for ensuring flight safety are established by the international civil aviation organization. However, they are not a single document for all airlines in the world. Despite the significant contribution of the organization to ensuring the safety of flights over the territories of the participating countries, decisions and documents are advisory in nature. Often, rules are governed by national laws, and airports and airlines can implement their own security measures.

For example, cutting and piercing objects with a blade length of 6 cm or more are universally prohibited. However, some air carriers will not allow small nail scissors, nippers, or short nail files in your bag. And if you forgot to put your manicure accessories in your luggage, you will have to part with them during the inspection. In some cases, people say that they managed to carry a certain prohibited item in their carry-on baggage. This is not due to lenient requirements, but rather due to equipment failure or personnel carelessness.

The same ambiguous requirements can be for shaving appliances. Sometimes they are not mentioned at all in the transportation rules. The fact is that a liquid substance means not only drinks, but also any perfumes, pastes and gels, oils and creams, sprays and lotions, cosmetics in liquid form (even lip gloss and mascara). If your shaving gel or other product comes in containers larger than 100 ml, you cannot carry it in your carry-on baggage. Even if there is very little lotion in a 200 ml bottle and it is obvious that its amount is much less than 100 ml, you will have to leave it.

The rule states that each liquid product must be packaged in a container with a volume of up to 100 ml. And they, in turn, must be in a transparent plastic bag, tightly closed with a zip-zipper. If you cannot meet these conditions, please check your shaving supplies in your checked baggage.

This can be a fixed amount (very significant) or a fee for each extra kilogram. Its size is on average 5-10 euros.
• Ask if this company allows you to bring shaving tools on board... If you don't find the answer and you have doubts, put your shaving accessories in a suitcase to avoid unpleasant situations.
• Send all the cans and bottles with perfumery and cosmetic products there, if the container volume exceeds 100 ml. They also need to be placed in plastic bags, as containers can lose their tightness due to pressure drops. A good solution would be to purchase a travel shaving kit - it contains all the necessary formulations in small quantities.
• Pack your straight razor in such a way that it cannot ruin other things in your suitcase: when loaded onto an aircraft and unloaded from the luggage compartment, suitcases are usually subjected to rather strong mechanical stress.
• If you are carrying an electric razor or a safe disposable razor in your carry-on baggage, make sure that they can be easily presented in case of need.
• Arrive at the airport with a spare time, to be able to leave unnecessary things that outweigh the luggage with people accompanying you or in the car if you leave it in the parking lot.
