Most of the stronger sex prefer to remove stubble on the face, rather than growing a beard. Everyone chooses their own way of shaving. If over time irritation of the skin appears, as well as ingrown hairs, a change of method is recommended. Many people prefer wet shaving with an electric razor, which provides a smooth epidermis. In such cases, it is recommended to use special electric shaving razors and special cosmetic products for the care of the dermis.

What it is?

Wet shaving with an electric razor - This means removing hair with a variety of products that have a moisturizing effect, improve the sliding of the blades, and reduce inflammation. For this purpose, foams, gels and special creams are used.

This method of shaving hair is very popular, previously the bristles were removed with disposable or reusable machines.

The shavers are equipped with floating heads to ensure maximum epidermal cleanliness.

It is easy to find on sale modern electric shavers with wet shaving option. The advantages of this method include the absence of irritation and maximum comfort when removing stubble. Can be used with an electric shaver foam, pouring it into a special container and feeding it to the dermis.

There is also a demand for waterproof electric shavers, which can be used in humid places such as in the shower.

But it is important to take into account that with prolonged contact with moisture, the case may depressurize.

Using an electric wet shaver not only reduces irritation but also ingrown hairs. A dedicated foam compartment simplifies and speeds up the process. For such devices, moisturizing conditioners are used, which can be purchased at cosmetics stores.

Modern shaving devices are equipped with a screen for monitoring the fill level of the cartridge with a humidifier. For wet shaving, it is recommended to use machines equipped with motors of linear or digital type.

The procedure can also be performed with an all-purpose electric razor for simple dry shaving.

These machines do not have a dampener compartment and a display.

Rotary shavers can also be used to remove bristles with water and foam, but must have a waterproof housing. In such cases, the face is covered with gel or foam, and then shaved in the standard way.

The main difference between dry and wet shaving is that the second option involves the use of moisturizing compositions. It is important to understand the pros and cons of this method of stubble removal.

Advantages and disadvantages

Wet shaving devices include the ability to use water. This is the only difference from electric dry shaving machines.

On sale you can also find models combining dry and wet options. These machines are equipped with a retractable trimmer and floating heads, an additional tank for filling the conditioner, which ensures the smooth movement of the blades. The electric shavers in this series have their pros and cons.

The main advantage of wet shaving is its versatility.... Bristles can be removed in the shower without the risk of moisture damage to the machine. Wet shaving is quick and effective, it makes it possible to eliminate the remains of hair under running water.

During such a shave you can use gels and other products that can moisturize the skin... They minimize damage to the epidermis. When wet, the bristles soften and straighten. This greatly simplifies the procedure for shaving hairs.

Electric shavers of this type are battery operated, which negates the likelihood of electric shock. There are no metal elements on their body that can be damaged by moisture over time. The advantages include the ease of caring for the machine, you can limit yourself to the usual rinsing with water.

The disadvantage of this method of shaving is that it touches the upper layer of the dermis, which provokes irritation. Dry shaving is safer. This is because the blades are hidden inside the head and do not come into contact with the epidermis.

But today's electric shaver makers are striving to innovate to improve shaving quality and make the process safer.

There are two types of devices to choose from: rotary and oscillating. In the case of the rotary system, the knives cut hairs of various lengths. Oscillating devices are equipped with blades separated from the dermis by a mesh, eliminating the possibility of cuts.

For wet shaving, you can use both types of appliances.

rules

Wet shaving is done in a few steps.

  1. Softening stubble and skin. A damp towel is applied to the face for half a minute.
  2. Applying a moisturizer with a brush, spreading it evenly over the bristles.
  3. Direct hair removal with a machine. The razor should be guided from top to bottom in the direction of hair growth. First, the cheeks are shaved, then the places that are difficult to access. If in some areas the hairline does not want to be removed, drive the machine at different angles (not necessarily along the growth line - you can also against). Excessive pressure on the razor should be avoided as there is the potential for cuts in the epidermis. If some areas of hair are left with no moisturizer, reapply it to improve shaving performance.
  4. Washing with cool water.
  5. If there are cuts on the face, treat them with a hemostatic agent.
  6. Repeated washing and towel drying.
  7. Applying after shave lotion.

If you have moles on your face, it is recommended to use a floating head razor.

Everything is very clear to me, but a question arises about the lubrication of the razor. The article says that the device must be lubricated twice a year, but if the knives are washed every time with wet shaving, then the lubricant is washed off, or is there something I don't understand?

Shaving with foam is inconvenient with an electric razor, it does not remove foam and it is not visible whether it has crept in or not.
