Studio apartment - the choice of those who live a dynamic and energetic life... Creative people, young couples, students and ascetics - this housing is ideal for them, as it differs not only in its functionality, but also in its comparative cheapness. Such material is perfect both for creating a family nest and for organizing a place for the best hangouts in the city. Payment for housing and communal services for a studio apartment and an ordinary apartment at the price tag differs at times, which pleases the owners of the first housing option. However, arranging such a place can be quite difficult for a beginner, because there are so many factors to consider!

Layout

For a small studio apartment, the traditional layout is a long narrow rectangular room with an entrance door at one end and a window literally opposite it. To create a design project for such a room is almost always a bad job.: the absence of additional corners, partitions, contractions and extensions turns a hypothetically heavenly place into boring housing that only perfectionists-minimalists and fans of geometry will fall in love with.

Even in small apartments of 16 or 17 sq. m (for which the "studio" type is actually the only solution to the problem of cramped space and lack of space) can be given creativity to roam, because there are so many different techniques and approaches that turn a concrete box into an attractive family nest.

At the stage of buying a home, you should immediately decide whether the apartment will be with or without a balcony. The presence of additional territory is a big plus for the studio, since with it you can extend the living space. The balcony, which people use only as a place for drying clothes and storing all the trash that accumulates over the years, can be insulated and equipped as a loggia.

A high ceiling, from 3.5 meters and more, is a gift for people who decide to buy a small apartment. First of all, it automatically solves the problem with the lack of free air in the room. And also it is ideal for creating a mini-floor inside the home. How to use it: as a mezzanine or as an additional area for arranging a bed, office or play area - the choice of the owners.

Zoning methods

Zoning for a studio apartment is an incredibly important process. Since there are no walls in the room, the boundaries between each room are literally blurred. In order to prevent the apartment from turning into an accumulation of a wide variety of furniture that solves the tasks set for it, it is necessary to remember about the existing design solutions that make life easier for those who do not understand anything about interior design.

Color is central to the design of any room. With the help of it, you can create a certain mood that can both suppress a person and invigorate him. Using a palette that is too bright for a studio apartment can go sideways for its owners, since large colored spots eat up the space.

They complicate the choice of furniture, which should be mobile and multifunctional, so before you start painting the walls, you need to decide what exactly the owners will fill their apartment with.

However, zoning with color is easiest to carry out, since even a transition from tones close to each other will immediately create the illusion of separate rooms.... Combining light shades, combined with each other, not only preserve the feeling of free space, but also logically divide it according to function. And this applies not only to the walls: the use of tiles in the kitchen area, which in color and ornament will be very different from the rest of the material that covers the floor, will make it clear that a person enters the territory of a completely different room.

Low partitions that extend to the middle of the wall can also be very convenient to use. They can simply divide the apartment into zones, while being at the level of the furniture and not being too conspicuous, and they can also serve as additional storage space if each ledge is equipped as a shelf. An excellent option would be translucent or openwork screens through which you can see the rest of the room, but they still divide the apartment into sectors.

Catwalks are another design solution to the zoning problem. Small protrusions that can be made as full steps or simply rise a couple of centimeters above the ground will solve the problem of dividing rooms. The advantage of this approach is that they can be used as additional storage space if a shelf is built into each "step".

The disadvantage is relative insecurity. The trauma of spaces in which there are protrusions above the ground is underestimated: apartment owners will need to look at their feet all the time so as not to accidentally stumble or slip.

Styles

A studio apartment is not the most flexible material for a designer. It becomes more difficult to decorate the interior of such a small room, given that it should be both multifunctional and cozy at the same time. Some modern styles perform best for these tasks.

Scandinavian

Scandinavians are renowned for their love of light shades, woods and fur. Usually, absolute white and absolute black are the enemies of any interior, because they will give even the cutest apartment the formality of an office space. In the case of Scandinavian style, snow-white glossy tiles on the walls and black metal details in furniture are a winning combination.

Modern

The Art Nouveau style embodies the main idea of the 20th century, which says that the form must be followed by the content. Rounding corners, lush armchairs and dark muted tones can only benefit a studio apartment if it has huge windows that fill every room with light.

Loft

For lone wolves with a bias towards brutalism, the loft is an attractive renovation idea. Dirty gray, brickwork, metal structures, concrete walls and glass surfaces - each of these elements will create the right atmosphere... This type of housing will appeal to inveterate bachelors or liberated individuals.

High tech

This design is suitable for those who loves to fill their home with high-tech elements and science fiction. Its minimalism, reflective surfaces, the use of a limited number of shades and luminous elements will immerse the occupant in the interior of the space station.

Classic

A classic interior is not the best option for a studio apartment. It consists in the use of overweight furniture, which eats up space with its splendor. It is worth resorting to it only for those who cannot live without plush pillows, huge chandeliers and dusty curtains.

Color spectrum

The color design of the apartment should be trusted by experienced specialists, since a beginner in combining shades can achieve the effect of an abstract picture - bright spots cause only contradictory feelings, but not harmony. For any design, it is worth choosing light shades - they are the ones that visually increase the space.

Any pastel colors will be ideally combined with a palette of white and gray: the main thing is to choose one or two saturated colors, which, with the help of dotted accents in the decor (a pattern in a frame on the wall, pillows on the sofa, a flower pot, a set of glasses), will add completeness to the room.

Aggressive (bright red or orange) or acidic colors should be used with caution: they are more difficult to combine than others.

Furnishings

Setting up a studio apartment is not an easy task, but even here, designers can give newbies a couple of tips. Most of the furniture should be ergonomic. The best options will be folding tables and chairs with thin legs, mobile design sofas that fold into a bed, bar counters to turn the kitchen area into a dining room, shelf systems and sliding wardrobes that can literally be "cut" into the wall or from them. help to achieve additional division of space.

The choice in favor of a shower cabin is one of the best decisions regarding the bathroom, because in such apartments it is very often combined with a bathroom.

For those who want to keep fit, even just sitting at home, a horizontal bar or wall bars are a good option. Such an element can be easily fit into a modern interior, and also, if there is not enough space in the closet, it can be used as an additional storage for clothes (of course, this is a joke).

Beautiful examples

There are many beautiful examples of studio apartments. To achieve harmony in design, you need to choose several main ideas around which the interior elements will be built... If a person is fond of the visual arts, his home should be designed simply and concisely - like an art gallery. The walls should be made in light colors so that nothing distracts the owner from admiring the canvases that he decides to hang around the apartment. Parquet or laminate is the best floor option for this type of room, it is easy to maintain and, thanks to the available color shades, will not draw attention to itself.

Daylight is, if not the most important, then an important factor in creating the desired atmosphere: electricity kills art, but the sun's rays make even familiar color combinations play in a new way.

If the owner of the apartment is an avid party-goer who likes to bring guests to parties, you need to leave him as much free space as possible in the main room. In an apartment with high ceilings, the second floor with a large bed in this case is a necessity, not just an available option. The overall design of the home should be done in muted colors using a lot of neon luminescence - this way you can achieve the atmosphere of a nightclub when darkness falls over the city.

For a young family, a modern or industrial design is suitable: it implies the use of unisex colors (of course, the shades do not have a clear gender division, but human prejudices are strong even when choosing an interior) such as dark blue, gray or burgundy. Geometric shapes, metal structures - any modern technology will ideally fit into such a design, be it a music center, set-top box or plasma TV panels.

It is ideal for dynamic city life.
