The hallway is an independent world that lives by its own laws. This square accepts people only for a while, letting them into other rooms, while it is “busy” with the preservation of outerwear, shoes, and a special microclimate. For the hallway, they develop not only a separate type of furniture, but also an interior design, where a mirror is always present - ideally a large one.

The mirror in the hallway is practically no different from the mirror in the living room or bedroom, except perhaps a task. The correct mirror area in the corridor should show a person in full growth, because it is extremely important for us to know how we look when we go outside. A large mirror is ideal, but unfortunately not always available - most often limited space is to blame for this. In this case, the model is chosen in such a way that it best fits into the surrounding interior and matches the size.

To see yourself well in the mirror, you need to be at the optimal distance from it - the smaller the mirror surface, the closer to it, and vice versa. In order to see your display in all details in the floor version, you need to move away from it at least 3 meters, or even further. The question arises whether this particular hallway allows it or not.

In many houses of the old fund, for example, in "Khrushchevs", residents have a narrow corridor instead of a hallway, sometimes not exceeding those notorious 3 meters. But there is still furniture: a wardrobe or a hanger, a shoe rack or just shelves for shoes, which also reduces the footage. We have to be content with a much smaller wall option.

A wall mirror in the hallway is a great idea, especially when it comes to space shortages.

Manufacturers offer several types of wall mirrors.

• Smallthat can only reflect the face and shoulders. Option for tiny rooms where only 1 person and a couple of small pieces of furniture can be at the same time: a shoe rack, a hanger, a console or wall shelf for keys, an umbrella, a bag.
• Medium format, where a person is visible to the waist or slightly below. A traditional option for a small hallway, at the same time visually increasing the space.
• Bigshowing full length reflection. For such a model, a backlight is usually used.

Outdoor is an attribute of both classic and modern styles, has a different frame:

• metal frame;
• plastic frame;
• wooden classic.

The built-in option, like the wall-mounted one, at once solves the problem of limited space. In addition to floor cabinets, mirrors are built into the dressing table, trellis, wall cabinets.

Mirrors can be backlit. The option is used in any form - both functional and decorative.

Decorative mirrors can serve as decoration, but are not always reflective. Their distinctive features:

• the presence of a facet or pattern on the surface;
• the surface is not solid, but folded from mirror tiles;
• a colored surface is a luxurious decorative element, especially if it is skillfully played in the interior.

Manufacturers do not skimp on the shape of mirrors in their fantasies - they can be round and square, oval and rectangular, drop-shaped and zigzag. In addition to shape, quality and dimensions, the frame is no less important for the interior. This decorative part has a fairly wide range of designs:

• carved form;
• forged models;
• backlit frame;
• gold plated option.

The mirror surface can have an engraving, facet, drawing, but if you plan to use it for its intended purpose, it is better to leave it clean.

When choosing a mirror for the hallway, several parameters must be taken into account, and all of them are of considerable importance for the overall impression and fulfillment of the direct duty - high-quality reflection.

The mirror is required:

• compliance with the interior;
• combination with the chosen design;
• compliance with the size of the hallway - length, width, height - the size of the mirror depends on this;
• light source - the light should not fall from the back of the person looking in the mirror.

According to this teaching, mirrors multiply any kind of energy: both positive Qi and negative Sha - therefore, they are placed in such a way that Qi multiplies, and Sha flows away from their apartments.

• The correct position is at right angles to the entrance, which will help Qi to multiply and get inside without hindrance.
• It is advisable to place in front of any object that causes positive emotions in households. Conversely, you cannot arrange things with negative feelings.
• You cannot install another mirror opposite. This placement contributes to the looping of energy and the subsequent stagnation of positive development.

• Mirror in the hallway with facet. This design not only combined the functional and decorative capabilities of the mirror surface, but also placed it in full accordance with the rules of feng shui. Firstly, the wall mirror is made in a combined form - a perfectly flat surface is framed around the perimeter by a facet and a classic silver frame. And secondly, it is located at an angle of 90º to the front door, as it should be according to Taoist teachings.

• An excellent example of a design "game" with visual space correction: an old acquaintance, a good friend of many generations - classic style. A large wall mirror in an artfully antique oak frame sits on a black wall. The space reflected in it, as it were, opens the door in the wall, as if it does not exist - it seems that there are no barriers in this place.

• The dimensions of the corridor do not allow installing a large or medium-sized mirror. That is why the designer focused not on functionality, but on decorativeness. The original frame, stylized as the sun, comes to the fore, where each ray has its own small mirrors.
