How to replace the bedside table?
The lack of a bedside table in the bedroom brings a lot of inconvenience. You have to leave your phone, book or glass of water on the floor, which is not always comfortable. If for some reason it is not possible to purchase and install a bedside table, you can come up with several replacement options. Each of them has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.
Textile organizer instead of a curbstone
If a very small room was allocated for the bedroom, and the bedside table simply does not fit there, there is an excellent solution to the problem. It consists in using a wall-mounted textile organizer. This accessory has many advantages:
- low price;
- light weight;
- beautiful design.
Among the shortcomings, it should be noted the fragility of such a device. In addition, not every item can be put into a textile organizer. So, he will not stand too heavy a book.
Of course, you cannot put a glass of water in the pocket. In addition, in order to fix the textile organizer on the wall, you will have to break its integrity (screw in the bolts).
Using a stool
The simplest, cheapest and most mobile option is to use a stool instead of a bedside table. This replacement method has many advantages:
- low cost;
- low weight and mobility (the ability, if necessary, to rearrange the stool to some other place);
- the ability to decorate a stool to match the interior of the bedroom (paint it in the desired color, use some kind of tablecloth or cape).
Of the shortcomings, it should be noted only that the stool is not always stable. And if there is a fleecy carpet or carpet on the floor in the bedroom, the stool may turn over altogether.
Other replacement ideas
The bedside table can be replaced not only with a side stool or a wall-mounted textile organizer. There are other replacement options as well.
- Hanging shelves made of plastic, metal or wood (depending on the original interior of the bedroom). They can be hung directly above the bed or placed below the side - just in the potential place for a bedside table. Of the advantages of this replacement option, one can note the convenience of placement, and of the minuses, again the need to spoil the wall.
- If the bedroom has extra space, then during the repair process, you can make special niches from drywall. It is better to design them in advance, having thought over the length and width.
- An extraordinary option for replacing the bedside table is to use small ladders and stepladders. Of course, in order for them to look organically with other furniture, they must be painted in a suitable color, if desired, supplemented with some accessories.
- A good alternative is to use special baskets or storage boxes. These can be purchased at any hardware or furniture store. The basket can be placed next to the bed and placed there the necessary small items (mobile phone, wet wipes, book and much more).
If you don't want to use a basket, ladder or stepladder, you can replace the bedside table with a dressing table. Of course, in terms of dimensions, it is most likely not inferior to a bedside table, but it is more mobile.
If for some reason you did not like any of the proposed options, you should connect your own imagination to the matter. After all, if you think logically, then instead of a bedside table, you can install almost any thing intended for storage and at least remotely suitable in size - boxes, suitcases, boxes, racks, bags, etc. The most important condition is that it is convenient for the person himself to use the replacement of the bedside table.
