A bedside table is a small piece of furniture, traditional, familiar, and therefore sometimes its choice seems boring. Well, what can impress the curbstone, the more - narrow, however, it can also change the appearance of the bedroom. Do not turn all the attention to yourself, but allow rather simple furniture to create interesting combinations, stylistically precise and elegant.

The smallest room in the apartment is often allocated for the bedroom. And this is understandable, but not everyone succeeds in making sure that in a small space the feeling of being cramped by bulky furniture is not created. But there are options. Narrow pedestals are just such a good idea.

What is good about a narrow curbstone:

• takes up little space, therefore, does not "eat up" valuable centimeters;
• looks appropriate and logical in a small space;
• more "slender" furniture is often perceived as refined, sophisticated;
• without massiveness, but nevertheless it copes with its functions perfectly.

Of course, it is not always possible to find such a curbstone. You need to revise more than one directory to see a suitable option.

It is immediately worth deciding why such a curbstone is selected. First of all, it must be practical. It can store personal items, linen and hygiene products, for example. Or it will become an exclusively "library" bedside table, which will only serve the habit of the owners to read before going to bed. Necessarily thought out how the tabletop of the cabinet will be involved. If it is not empty, the decor should be equivalent to the geometry and dimensions of the cabinet - elegant and also not bulky, for example: candles, a narrow vase, an interesting bulky statuette, etc.

There are several types of materials that leave no chance for "competitors". In the case of furniture, the leader has been identified for a long time and is not going to give up positions.

There is no choice between chipboard, MDF and natural wood - the quality speaks for itself. Another question is that you often have to save money, because natural material is unavailable. But in the case of a narrow bedside table, you can consider retro furniture, high-quality, yet solid, ready for restoration. Its alteration will be inexpensive, and the thing will serve for a long time and please with its naturalness, grace, etc. If you make compromises, only such.

The opinion that if we really take furniture into the bedroom, then only with a set, well, or by the method of selection of objects similar in shades, is no longer just controversial, but even condemned. Metal always looks heavy, and in such an intimate room it may seem inappropriate. And only slightly provocative, cheeky styles make metal furniture convincing in the bedroom.

Forged elements with a wooden curbstone are combined well, but the thing should be rather delicate, light, despite the composition. And some kind of design roll-call will be required: forged elements can be present in the external structure of the bed, wardrobe, table, banquet. Then such a "difficult" decision is easier to beat without making it alien in the bedroom, especially a small one.

A curbstone made of glass also cannot be called a frequent occurrence in a relaxation room in an apartment - a fragile thing that needs anxious care, not everyone likes in principle. But she has a big advantage: it looks lighter, more airy than the same tree.

• Niche. This is a comfortable space too, you can call it an open shelf. In order to put magazines there, it fits best. Moreover, if it really is a selection of books or magazines, they turn into a decorative element. Not a figurine or a dusty casket that came from nowhere, but a really practical element that acts as a natural and appropriate decor.
• Two lower drawers + one niche at the top. A very common type of construction that can look boring. But thanks to interesting handles, original decor or, conversely, perfect geometric simplicity, such a banal thing is transformed.
• Socket inside the cabinet. Such a thing is also provided for charging a smartphone or tablet. Very convenient and, again, hidden from view.

A curbstone is not always a design with a purely maximum practical task.

But the intended purpose of furniture does not always lie in the maximum internal load. Very often, a curbstone is needed only so that the same phone, book or glasses are not put on the floor.

The most interesting part of the selection is guessing with the design, finding the very option that fits perfectly into the bedroom.

You can consider this with examples.

• There is not much space inside such a structure, but it will definitely be enough for books and everyday personal items. Due to the legs, the curbstone looks not cumbersome, but if it stood on the floor, it would be more squat, the effect of some sophistication would be excluded.

• Narrow sideboard made of the same materials as the bed. And although such a coincidence is not at all necessary today, the option has the right to exist. Despite its small size, it will fit exactly what can be useful before going to bed and rest. Such a design will definitely not make the visual appearance of the bedroom heavier.

• And here is an example that the tree can be different - light is combined with dark, without creating a design conflict. Convenient niche for books and magazines and a drawer for hidden objects - an easy and stylish solution.

• An almost white cabinet with a pretty front. It is not at all necessary to put such symmetrical elements on both sides of the bed, things are self-sufficient - they do not need duplication.

• Vintage little thing will take root not only in the style of shabby shek, but in him she is, of course, especially charming. It practically merges with the wall and floor, which only reveals its fragility and grace more.

• This curbstone has glass fronts, which can be beneficial for a small bedroom, where any gloss, mirrors and other reflective surfaces are needed as visual "expanders".

More complex dark colors (cherry, for example) are more difficult to create the light effect that is so necessary in a small bedroom. But with such examples, you can learn the selection of furniture without being afraid to take bold steps.

The set of criteria is standard: the buyer is guided by the type of construction, material of execution, additional equipment and design. But whether only these points are enough for a successful choice - perhaps not.

It is worth paying attention to a number of parameters.

• Possibility of moving the curbstone. Not all people are prone to permutations, but there are many of them. And new repairs, moving can make adjustments to the previous appearance of the home. But do not change all the furniture from this, but a rearrangement can happen. If the curbstone to be bought is seen by the future owner only by the bed - and nowhere else, and only with this wallpaper next to it, the choice is no longer so obvious.
• Checking fittings. Not everyone can determine by eye whether the fixings in furniture are of good quality. But sometimes it is really visible, but not everyone looks at it when buying.
